This was an in-store purchase, not an online transaction. I chose to pick up the four dining chairs I ordered instead of having them delivered because the delivery charges were exorbitant ($300 on a $4000 order). I had previously purchased more than $50,000 of furnishings from Bassett and was not charged for delivery. In any event, the chairs were delivered to the store almost a month late. Had I not followed up repeatedly with sales personnel (designers), the chairs may still not have been delivered. The various people I talked with continually used the irrational excuse that they were not accustomed to working on pick-up orders. Ultimately the manager arranged for the delivery to the store; however on the day the chairs finally arrived, I was not called to pick them up until 20 minutes before store closing time because the manager "had been on phone calls". In addition to the poor service and exorbitant quoted delivery charge, the workmanship quality of the chairs was not as high as the ones I had purchased previously and was seeking to match as closely as possible. All in all, an unsatisfactory experience compared to my prior dealings with Bassett.
