I purchased the replacement whole house filter. The appearance is the same as the previous one I purchased. However, what was different is the 2 reducing bushings on the inlet and outlet for the water. The ones from my unit did not fit and none were supplied with the new one. I called support and was told that I needed to order new bushings for my unit. There was nothing about this on there website. The description for the bushings I was directed to by support was 1" by 3/4" which was exactly what I measured for my old ones that wouldn't fit. I was sent the new bushings cost free and only had to pay a nominal shipping cost. The new bushings are actually slightly smaller than 1" contrary to the description on the website. The other thing that is different is that on my previous filter the pipe reducers had rubber seals. When I asked about this I was told that the new bushings didn't require seals, that they were self sealing. However, when I installed them and turned on the water the inlet side leaked even after I tightened it as far as it would go. After removing it I checked the depth of the threads on the filter unit against the length of the threads on the reducing bushing. Those threads are not long enough to reach the bottom of the threads on the filter unit. My solution was to buy "O" rings to prevent leaking. I should not have had to do any of this. This part is a very poor design! I do like the filtering overall and hav e used Aquasna's whole filtering system for years.
