I was excited to shop PartsGeek because of value and reputation. Unfortunately, the package was damaged in shipping to the point of not being able to be delivered. It's not clear to me who was at fault here, and I understand things happen. However, I needed the part in time to fix a car on the weekend when I had time off. Fed Ex sent me an automated email saying the part was undeliverable but not why. I assumed a driver was at fault because I had already received the other part of my order. When I tried to contact Fed Ex I could only connect through email or by calling into an automated line who told me to contact the shipper. When I tried to contact the shipper, I could only do so through email and was given a link to Extend to make a claim. When I went to make a claim I got far enough to complete the claim but Extend's site only got far enough to tell me a claim was processing and show me a spinning wheel...for hours. It never confirmed the claim.
The next day I got an email telling me the claim was honored and I would receive an Extend gift card so I could reorder the part. When I clicked the Extend gift card I was taken to a page that never fully populated so I could place to order. Finally I sent a frustrated email which landed me gift card I was able to use. Thank you. I do appreciate that system finally worked (I hope). Today is Thursday and I needed the car last weekend. It has been difficult without the car. I am grateful for you last response but now I will get the part next week - meaning it will be another week without a car and all the challenges that presents.
In all of this I never spoke to a person who could hear the problem and expedite the solution. I have worked in both retail and customer service so I understand problems happen. But the ability to communicate quickly and effectively with Fed Ex, Parts Geek and Extend was horrible. The money I saved going with PartsGeek was easily lost in time and frustration. While you came highly recommended, You customer service for those times when problems occurs will make it hard to recommend you to anyone else without sharing what I went through.
