Brought My ’03 Outback’s Steering Back to Life
I bought a rack and pinion for my 2003 Subaru Outback from PartsGeek and couldn’t be happier. The product page had clear fitment notes for my year/trim, checkout was simple, and the rack arrived faster than expected in sturdy packaging. The unit looked clean and well-built out of the box—no scuffs, ports capped, and boots intact.
Install went smoothly: the mounting points lined up, the lines threaded on without a fight, and there were no odd shims or “gotchas.” After an alignment, the steering is tight, tracks straight, and there are no leaks or noises. It honestly feels like the car dropped a decade in mileage. Price-wise, PartsGeek beat local quotes by a comfortable margin, and I appreciated that what I saw on the site is exactly what showed up at my door.
Small suggestion to make a great experience even better: show a clearer estimated delivery date before checkout. Otherwise, this was a five-star purchase—great price, accurate fitment, fast ship, and a part that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’ll be back when the Outback needs its next piece.
