The gifts arrived in two separate shipments (birdseed snowman and bulb garden). When the bulb garden arrived it had not yet sprouted anything but within a few days the crocus had come up. Within a week, there was about 1.5” growth on the crocus shoots and a few other bulbs have now produced shoots although they are too short to tell whether it’s the tulips or hyacinths.

Getting checked out on line was difficult. I found the process cumbersome. It took me two tries to final process my order compared to other online shopping experiences. The hardest was finally getting to the screens where I could type in the recipients’ names.

I like Breck’s as a company, and I like Breck’s gifts. I waited (probably too late) to send an amaryllis to a friend for Christmas. However, it would’ve been OK if the gift arrived the day after Christmas, which it did, but I chose to include a stake for the amaryllis. The stake was sent before the plant. The recipient was totally confused because she had to sign for the package. The box was empty, except for the buildable stake which was taped on the side of the box.Breck’s had included the gift message with the stake, which made absolutely no sense because it alluded to the amaryllis and the message on the amaryllis‘s pot. My friend had to contact me and I had to explain everything and tell her the amaryllis would be arriving soon. Then when the pot arrived, the message that was supposed to be on the pot was not there. I had to send her a picture of the gift and tell her to look in the package for a message which could be attached to the pot. She found it and taped it on the pot. What could’ve been a lovely gift with a lovely message turned into a confusing debacle.

I placed my order on line on Sunday but accidently gave you the wrong mailing address. I called on Monday trying to correct. My first rep was doing a great job trying to help, even though the product already went out but we got disconnected. I ordered over 15 orders to different addresses, some were tandem some never received their gifts. None of the gifts did not have our namesand they had no idea the gift was from us. Some received orders different from what was ordered. I have ordered plants from Brecks for many years it no more. Disappointed is not intense enough for my reactor this order. In my second order from BG, I had the same amaryllis plant sent to three different addresses. Two of the gifts did not include information that the gift was from me. When one friend sent out a text message to inquire about receiving the plant, I let her know. The other unmarked gift went to my neighbor who also did not receive information as to who sent the gift. As far as I know, I filled in the for online correctly.

The quality of each amaryllis (I ordered 10) was outstanding. Fresh, firm bulbs; securely packaged; with pots exactly as shown in the photos in the catalog and online. They all sprouted within weeks and are thriving. This is the 6th year that I have sent these as gifts to family members out of state, and they look forward to receiving them and track their growth progress eagerly. Those who live in warmer climates transplant the bulbs after they finish their indoor bloom, and they have been reblooming in their gardens for years - the gift that keeps on giving.

I ordered a combination plant pot on December 12th, (12/14 was the cut-off date for Christmas delivery). I never heard back from Breck’s and thought I might have missed the delivery notification so on 12/23 I contacted customer Service. After several minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, the Customer Service woman came back and said that the item never shipped, they now don’t know whether it’s out of stock or not and that was about it. No resolution of the situation, no follow up, no keeping the customer happy!! I was thoroughly disgusted with the treatment. I previously worked in quality assurance and know that you always keep the customer happy. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years and can’t believe how this transpired! And their staff couldn’t even tell me if I was charged for the item. I will be advising all my friends of the situation and will never be back to order again. Breck’s lost a very good customer!!!
