The 50% discount feels fake. I don't for a second believe that this unit costs an MSRP of $449.99 when I'm paying for a little bit of tubing and a couple molded plastic parts when the filters themselves are $90 for a replacement. My purchase price of $234 for the filter unit and faucet makes sense when you consider the parts, filters, and faucet, but it is laughable to believe that those items should cost a full price of ~$500 shipped with tax. Pricing should be more honest and transparent. I don't think there is ever a time when this product will be sold at "full price" on Aquasana's website. This is meant to create a false sense of urgency to buy while on sale and to create a feeling of receiving additional value. I guess it also drives sales away from Amazon by saying the best price is to buy direct, but it doesn't feel right to me. It's just price gouging on Amazon.
