My overall experience with the website was good. Here are some recommendations I hope Yankee Candle will consider:
▪️ When I’m viewing multiple candles on a page and I elect to click on one for more details, when I’m finished and use the ‘back’ arrow to return to the prior page, the site doesn’t consistently take me back to where left off - It will bounce me back to the very beginning Instead. Can this be fixed?
▪️ It would be nice if there was a place on the website that would describe certain experiences you may have with the candle size and type. For instance, I wanted to know why the original jar candle (large) burns up to 150 hours vs. the tumbler being up to 80 hours. Another example is when reviews are posted, it would be nice to know what specific version of that candle that they purchased. So when a person describes their experience in a review, I could keep in mind whether or not the size or type of the candle affected their review. Perhaps a common about the throw with a large tumbler made differ from the throw of a large original jar candle or a medium or small jar size in a living room vs. a bedroom
▪️ Additionally, when checking out for a purchase, I noticed the credit card history, ship to, and billing address Is saved, which is very good. However, the system defaults to the shipping and billing address being the same. I don’t think that’s a good idea because it’s just a small box that someone can easily miss, specifically where they may have to remove the checkmark like I did and enter the proper billing address. Perhaps You can simply use a much larger box and font to make it easier for customers to see, and then have us ‘choose’ whether the ship to and billing address are the same.
▪️ My last comment relates to checking out with a promo code. I purchased three candles and used the.’LARGE 12’ promo code. I really appreciate Yankee Candle texting me that promo option! However, the downside is that I thought I’f be receiving free shipping based on my pre-tax total, Yet to my surprise, the system changed me shipping after I applied the promo code. That made me a bit bit salty because I believe it would be more customer focused to use a ‘pre-promo code’ sub-total to determine whether a free shipping offer is warranted. Then customers can still feel good about the their purchase decision during the check-out process.
Again, my overall experience is good. I just wanted to make sure I included some suggestions. Please note I really appreciate Yankee Candle even allowing us to give more detailed feedback. Hope this helps!
