Life's a Breezy

I researched an undiagnosed condition my 26-year-old gelding has: exophthalmos of his left eye. This condition has existed for almost two years and my vet has not been able to diagnose or treat. I don't believe it is a tumor, as the protrusion of the eye is better at times, and worse at times, and I can't find a correlation to anything. I was reading about exophthalmos in humans, which is called Graves disease, and it is an autoimmune disorder, often treated with selenium. This gelding also has severe PPID, so I thought the swelling behind his eye might also be from some autoimmune disorder and everything is connected to everything! I found a product at Santa Cruz with the dose of selenium I wanted and with what I consider "clean" ingredients, so I'm giving this a try. It's just a shot in the dark, but for the expense, it's worth a try and I don't believe it can hurt him. No harm no foul, but if it improves his condition for the last months of his life (doubt that he'll make through another New Mexico summer), then I'm happy.
