I purchased the Botanical pen kit but I thought I saw on the online picture, a purple paint in the recesses of the decorative tube. I must have imagined it but it gave me an idea. I am going to try dropping a contrast paint to make the details pop and seal with resin glue.

I found the overall experience to be great. One recommendation I have would be to simplify the process of adding things from the wish list to the cart. I had to go back and forth many times to try and get everything on my wish list into my cart to checkout.

The online interactive catalog works well. It is easy to find the item I want and I like the quick access to instructions and videos. As for checking out, I've tried PayPal in the past but don't believe I ever got it to work. I always type in a credit card. I greatly appreciate the periodic discounts and the award system. The majority of pens I made is to raise funds for a local nonprofit and every penny I save helps me make more pens :-).

Most items, I’ve purchased are of the up-most, high quality items. The only exception has been my experience with the “Fait, Hope and Love” pen kit unfortunately. The quality of the pen seems to be lacking along with the inability to purchase replacement parts such as pre-measured tubes for when mistakes are made on my part.

This is the only fountain pen kit offered. As I was turning it i realized there is no cap for the quill. From my perspective this makes the pen pretty useless. It doesn't make any sense to me to have a pen that uses liquid ink, if you want to carry it in your pocket it is necessary to remove the nib and screw on a brass plug that you probably can't find. I have ordered quite alot from Pennstate and this is the 1st item that has disappointed me. You have not lost me as a customer
