The labels that our company has purchased unfortunately are not a stocked size, so every time we order they are custom and therefore more expensive. I don't recall in the beginning that alarms went off telling me that this was a custom print. I entered the size I was looking for and this was what popped up. Had I known for sure that these were a custom size, then I probably would have continued looking at other possibilities. But at this point in time, our tag printing software has been custom written with these label's settings. Changing to a different label is not an option, at this point. I understand that if you don't have the size labels I want, a custom die-cut process is required. But once that die-cut is made, it's in your library of die-cuts and can be used as often as needed. How many sheets are needed to be ordered, in order to pay for the cost of the die-cut process? Once that targeted sheet order goal is met, will this size no longer be a custom print and pricing will be more in line with stocked sizes? So far, we have purchased probably 5000 sheets of this particular label and will continue ordering it. I have calculated that with the tier pricing per sheet, on this particular label, we need to order a min of 2000 sheets per order, in order to make the cost of each sheet cheaper than the uline labels we were ordering. In reality, the aggressive label we order from onlinelabels.com are more tacky than the uline labels and will stick better to merchandise that is more textured and uline labels won't adhere to. The onlinelabels.com labels are a superior product and ordering 2000 sheets each time, we are saving money and getting a better product. At the end of the day, saving money is the ultimate goal. I also failed to mention We are now using this size label for all the pricing labels, instead of having two order two different labels, depending on location, so 2000 sheets will be used up more quickly.
Yes, this is a custom size and costs more money to produce. but we do save money if we order higher quantities. I just can't help thinking about the amount of money we could be saving, if these weren't a custom size.
