Site Experience FeedbackMar 3, 2026
I find Midway’s search often somewhat difficult to find the items necessary to make a final selection. I find Midway’s checkout procedure somewhat concerning mainly from a security standpoint, such as not having the option to camouflage a credit card security code while entering said code. I know everyone thinks their site is completely secure. I am contacted on average at least two times at minimum each year from a retail site, creditor or service provider informing me that they have had some type of an information leak that contained some or all of my information along with thousands or hundreds of thousands of other people’s information. I receive these alerts even though I am extremely selective with whom I I share my information with. I also endeavor to limit the number of times per year that I make online purchases or have or other types of interactions online that require my personal or financial information. The shear number of these data breaches annually I find quite disconcerting. Take the Midway purchase I have just completed for instance. Before I was even able to save this transaction information in my notes or journal app I was forced to deal with the very survey I am filling out for you right now. I find this to be very annoying as well as disturbing. This very survey asked me for troubling and intrusive information such as year of birth and annual income. Information which on it’s own may seem quite trivial, however when combined with other seemingly trivial information. Information often gathered by other companies, other financial institutions or other seemingly benign surveys much like this one. When gathered by unscrupulous entities can create puzzle pieces that when combined can create a complete and quite possibly damaging picture of an individuals whole life. The simplicity of this equation I find to be extremely worrisome to say the least. This simple equation viewed with the frequency of the near constant data breaches taking place is a constant concern to me and hundreds of thousands of other people. It would be reasonable to assume that Midway USA could simply tweak their order page format. The tweak would simply alter the credit card and security code entry fields. This would change these two fields so that when an individual enters their credit card number and three digit security code each digit would show the number entry for a three to five second period of time and then fade to an astride in place of the actual numeric character which was entered. This character display would probably not make the actual data that much safer. The individual however would feel like the numerical interface was safer, and that is very important. If Midway could also change the billing and shipping address field so that both addresses are shown on the order form from the start of the order process. I feel like this would make the first time buyer less confused by the steps of the order process. In addition I believe most repeat buyers would appreciate the more streamlined version of the order process. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my observations with you, even if my suggestions are not implemented. The sharing of one’s ideas is rather cathartic for the individual and possibly helpful to the website designers and web managers as well. Best regards to all of you sincerely Joe T Public.
