I’m a moderate level audiophile and, surprise surprise, my appetite for progressively higher end stuff is somewhat larger than my wallet. Unfortunately, the days of being able to go to a store and test listen to new components are long gone. Ultimately I made three successive (related) high end speaker orders in one month. I got started because I had to replace my dead subwoofer, so the first order was to address that need. It would also help me to decide if I really liked the Martin Logan product line well enough to shell out the bucks to upgrade everything before I ordered any more pieces. OMG, it’s great! Immediately after the first order, the first and what eventually became the third order items went on sale. So I missed the sale price on the first order by a week or two. Needed assistance on setup for the first order and Crutchfield tech was great. Second order for front channel speakers was great. Both the first and second orders arrived in two days as promised. I waited and placed a third order two weeks after the second so I could use my rewards points from the first two orders on the third order. While I was waiting, the third order items, which were on sale, went out of stock. So the last order for back channels took two weeks to come instead of two days. Ultimately, everything turned out great and I love, love, love my new speaker system, but wow. It felt like playing a game of dodgeball to get there. Bottom line is that Crutchfield is a great, knowledgeable, dependable, service oriented company that carries wonderful products from a wide range of manufacturers at a wide range of budget levels. But there must be a more customer friendly way to administer their reward points program. Making a customer wait two weeks before they can use their points on a purchase instead of just giving some kind of repeat customer discount is frustrating.
