Post-Delivery FeedbackJun 28, 2025
I purchased an arm chair in an order. First delivery attempted, was told by the driver item was broken and could not deliver. Contacted your customer service for resolution, just to be told item no longer ( color on sale in question) no longer available in the whole company. I offered solution of ANY color of the same item would be satisfactory to me, as long as City Furniture honor the sale price paid. At this time was told by customer satisfaction manager, it could not be done, instead a discount could be offered. I was not happy with that alternative, issue was escalated to another department, just to be told there was nothing it could be done. Color in question was discontinued and City Furniture would not be willing to replace with regular price color item. I asked to please speak with a supervisor, and get it approved, the mistake was done by the company the moment city furniture accepted payment and committed with the delivery. Instead, on same day, was contacted by your customer satisfaction manager, and told they found the only one left in the company, was told was in DC, and will be delivered as initially promised. I accepted resolution, agreed on another delivery date. Only to be delivered a arm chair without the back rest piece.
Unacceptable waste of my time, and to my view your company and personnel money.
So here is the email I wrote to the manager assisting me throughout this ordeal:
“So basically, your company sent me the piece with full knowledge that a “piece” was missing, so I can run out of options, but request a refund, instead of correct the mistake initially made when accepted the order.
Maybe having your trucks and personnel doing double the work IS MORE effective, and hopefully LESS money, instead of providing customer satisfaction, on mistakes done by City Furniture.
Thank you for the run around.”
Very bad business practice. Instead of speedy resolution on an estimated $300 difference to honor the price, instead all this time and money wasted going back and forth with a faulty item. Shameful.
