Your e-certificates sound like a great idea, but I tried three times and could not get it to add to the cart. I was never able to figure out why it wouldn't add -- it seemed like "Add to Cart" cleared my fields and did nothing else. I then switched to mailed gift certificate, but struggled a lot getting the system to accept my message... it kept telling me I had characters to spare, and giving a count, and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take what I was trying to type. Eventually I realized it wouldn't accept most punctuation (I was trying to use parentheses and periods/ellipses). If there's excluded characters, you should list them visibly or use an alert system so that we don't waste time trying to figure out what's going on. I also wish, finally, that we could input the value of the gift certificate so there were more dollar options -- I wanted to send a $30 gift certificate today, and I had to downgrade my purchase because $50 was too high.
Between all of these factors, I came to your website knowing what I wanted to buy, and it took me over half an hour to complete the process. I should have been able to spend money on a pre-known purchase quicker and easier than that.
