I have bought several bikes from you all over the years. It just makes sense. Expensive bike shop brands are made in Taiwan and rigged with SRAM and Shimano components and probably made in the same factory as these. I still support my local bike shop buying gear and components as they wear out but I can't justify spending more for a bike with often times lesser quality componentry for upwards of double the cost.

The website looks pretty old school but that has its own charm. I find it frustrating that cycling feels like a rich persons game so it's nice to finally find something decent sub 1000$.

Received order quickly all in one box. By putting it together yourself saves lots of money. If you ever worked on bikes before it is an easy fix. Even if you haven’t basically all you are doing is putting parts together and the instructions are very helpful.

The bike gears were not properly adjusted...still making clicking sound. Bike appeared to be returned and not new. It had a rock wedged in the seat and a few scrapes, possible from a fall.

I can certainly handle some basic assembly, so I was very pleased to find a company that provides exactly that and a worthy discount. I cross referenced and double checked the quality of the components, quality of the metals, tires, bikes, and tested their value to other brands using an AI tool. I feel reassured that your information is presented honestly and without misleading marketing BS. I like Black/Dark colors, so I would have liked to have had more options there. Some of the designs are gorgeous and for me - looks are just as important as the specs. I wanted to spend more money but the available accessories didn't offer me any options. I would have liked to have bought some helmets, different tread tires, dropper post, maybe an extra seat, LED Safety lighting, even some clothing. Just seems like a missed opportunity to earn some extra profit when a customer makes a big emotional purchase as buying a new bike. You got me on the hook, so you might as well profit from the enthusiasm that purchasing new bike generates. I wouldn't buy junk, it would all have to be purposeful upgrades, add-ons or accessories. If this experience goes well, I'll be back to get my daughter's bike and possibly wife. For now - I gotta go find a store to buy those accessories!

I'd wanted to get a full suspension mountain bike for many years, but I could never justify purchasing a $5000 bike with mid range components from a brand name shop. In all of my searching for a new bike, I had seen ads for bikesdirect and more or less wrote it off as a site selling bikes with severely lacking components or irreputable frames. However, after researching bikesdirect a bit more, I found that the Motobecane frames are built by kinesis, one of the biggest bike frame manufacturers in the world. I decided to take a chance on a HALBOOST that just happened to be one of their secret sales at the time for $2000, that had decent components for a trail/enduro bike - rockshox pike select and monarch rear shock, sram eagle gx axs drivetrain, decent rims and tires, shimano deore brakes. I thought "the components are basically worth the $2000, plus I get a frame that may or may not be my style for free". I've had my halboost for 3 years now, and it has SHREDDED everything I've ridden it on. I've taken it to Moab and ridden the Whole Enchilada with no issues. I've hit big jumps at local bike parks and resorts with no problems, and I've taken it on every black diamond trail I've ever ridden. No issues. Comparing my bikesdirect bike to a friend's YT is one of my favorite activities. I spent $1000 less than he did and I have a better drivetrain, shocks, and wheels than he does. Looking to the future, I will always take a look at bikesdirect before making a purchase on a new bike/upgrades because this is biking's best kept secret.

The Bikesdirect.com new website does not include the bike that I ordered, so I reached out via email to confirm that the bike was still available since it was showing as available on the old website. I received an email back within 1 hour on a Friday afternoon confirming availability.

The website gives fantastic descriptions and product information. The links to videos is also very helpful. The basic look of the website feels a little antiquated when compared with other major brand bike websites but that has zero effect on the shopper's ability to locate, compare and purchase their desired product.

Bikes direct provides excellent value, but the customer must do homework to know what they are buying and figure out how to assemble the bike. Instructions were not very specific, videos on bikesdirect.com were helpful, the rest I found online/youtube.

better help to find legacy bikes and info/parts. I have an older hal boost m600 ebike trying to find the model, parts, specifically derailuer hanger (which looks a tad underengineered for the torque) took a lot of digging.Also no shipping time frame listed

I was pleased to find this deal on the NX derailleur, although they didn’t exactly make it easy to find. There’s no “parts” section so I had to click through a known path; someone who didn’t know it was there wouldn’t ever see it. Overall BikesDirect is a great business hobbling itself with a clunky website that seems low trust (despite being totally legit). I’m a software developer, I know what I’m talking about here. Just a little effort on UI/UX would be cheap and make it way better.

Bike is a great value. I am not a mountain biker but this bike will do great on the gravel I plan to use it on. Delivery was slow but that was the shippers fault.
