Was not aware of Mastercard's verification process, no matter what credit card you are using. VISA, MCRD, AMEX, etc.. Neither was the customer svc agent that i spoke with twice after making 7 calls and then waiting for someone to pick up at benefits only to run out of time on hold, be told to have a nice day and then be disconnected. I spent the better part of my day trying to make this purchase, including rebooting my computer, trying different browsers, trying to figure out how to change form of payment from AmEx which i did not want to use, emptying and reloading my cart or basket, calling cust svc. Payment cant be taken over the phone, either. I have a credit score of nearly 900. Then, I had to enter my debit card number bec I wanted to use Klarna. Had to get a BOLT account for benefits cosmetics to be able to process my payment. I finally googled mastercard about this verification thing
This process is part of the bank fraud prevention system. Seems to be a recent holiday celebration rollout. All I wanted was to be able to purchase a few items. Between tariffs, inflated prices and punitive timecinsuming processes required to spend money in the face off all this, and I blame the government for the whole mess. This is such a hassle that I am going to be spending far less usibg credit cards in the future. Thank goodness we still have folding bills. But, no more pennies. makes me misty... Make a gratitude list and read it over frequently. This issue is not a 3rd world problem. Happy Holidays!
