I bought a bass I have been looking at for the better part of a year. when it arrived, i went to tune it, and one of the tuning pegs wouldnt keep tension and would slip. i couldnt tune it to pitch, let alone stretch the strings. i was hoping to just get a replacement tuner, but being a third party seller, no parts are kept in stock. so i had to send back the bass. the email from CS stated the new bass would be shipped when UPS scanned the return package, but it didnt ship until a day after they RECIEVED the return. that misinformation was a little upsetting, but it also happened on a weekend, so im not sure if that is what caused a delay. i emailed CS about it, and they gave me a non-answer. when i recieved the replacement, it was the tuning pegs were all fine, but it had some of the worst backbow ive ever seen in a neck. so i had to let it sit for 24 hours to acclamate to my house before i was able to even do a setup on it. but i know zZounds isnt the one responsible for that, its on Jackson. i just wish zZounds had a QA department that made sure the product they send out is quality, and maybe some people that know how to do a basic setup on the instruments. idk if theres a liability issue with that or not. but it would be cool to be able to play the things out of the box. but i guess you cant ask for much when youre allowed to pay while you play.
