I placed what was a pretty big order for me on Yankee Candle’s website for in-store pickup, and more than half of it was cancelled with zero explanation in the email. Once those items were cancelled, the few things that were still available were basically useless on their own.
Most of what I ordered was part of a one-day-only sale, so by the time I realized the items I actually wanted were cancelled, I didn’t have time to reorder from another store or have them shipped. The items I was trying to buy are usually around $7.50 each and were on sale that day for $2.95, so it was a huge bummer to miss out.
I was really frustrated and disappointed, so I ended up calling the pickup store to cancel the rest of the order. I do want to say that the store associate I spoke with was very professional and polite, which I really appreciated. That said, it was still frustrating that the store’s phone number wasn’t even listed on the Yankee Candle website. On top of that, I don’t live close to a store — it’s over a two-hour round trip for me — so I try to bundle everything into one big order. I really don’t want to waste time and gas just to pick up a couple of small items.
I do love their WoodWick candles and plug-in scent diffusers, but after this experience, I’m definitely going to think twice before ordering from Yankee Candle again.
