Inconsistency in the quality of products

I have been a customer of Stateline for several decades. I am sad to see the company regress so poorly. Exchanges are not offered, only returns. The company does not seem to care about the quality and consistency of their products.
I ordered the same hay bag - but in different colors. They were different sizes despite the manufacturer tag stating they were the same size.
Same issue with a shirt I ordered in two different colors. One was a size 38 - which fit perfectly. The other of the same type/model (but in a different color) was a size 40 - which fit smaller than the 38.
I tried to explain both the hay bag and shirt inconsistency issues to customer service, hoping they would realize there is a quality control issue with whoever Stateline is purchasing their products from.
Customer service did not care. All they wanted was to send a return label, but not offer an exchange to make things right.
This is very disappointing whereas I can order the same things from Amazon and get much better quality customer service.
I am deeply saddened that Stateline is also charging a "return insurance" so I can return defective items such as these, for free. I feel if Stateline is sending out defective/inconsistent items, it should be the company's responsibility to pay for the items to be returned.
Again, I am deeply saddened at the downslope of the company. Stateline used to be my "go-to" for decades. I keep trying to give the company a chance, but it continues to disappoint.
