I was so excited when I found a pink dressage whip on State Line Tack. I was prepping for my first ever freestyle dressage competition with my horse, Clare, who we call the Barbie Dream Horse, where we'd be competing to a compilation of music from Barbie - hence the need for a pink whip. Another vendor had already let me down (ordered a whip, found out a week later it was out of stock). So when it looked like State Line could POSSIBLY get me one in time, I was excited. I placed the order april 18. I heard nothing. No updates on the Shop app. Just "preparing order" for several days. So I finally called on 4/22 or 4/23 and spoke to a lovely woman at State Line who told me there'd been some issues with the switch to Shopify, but she’d identified where my package was and that it was set to deliver sometime between 8 AM and 8 PM on Saturday, 4/25, so I was cautiously hopeful I might receive it in time for my 5:39 PM ride time (I was competing both 4/24 and 4/25, and when I originally placed the order with rush delivery the estimated delivery was 4/24 – 4/27). I got a notification from FedEx Saturday morning that it would be delivered between 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM so I was excited that it was going to make it – I was already at the show grounds so a friend was going to pick it up and bring it to me. But around noon, I got a new alert from FedEx that the new delivery estimate was sometime Monday, 4/27, at which point the pink whip was essentially useless to me. I finally got a hold of a human at FedEx who said a sorting issue had occurred. And there was essentially nothing I could do. So I rode without the whip from State Line – instead, I magically found one in a store at the World Equestrian Center and used that. So all in all, not a simple case of State Line messing up. But in the end, I was counting on State Line (a brand I love and buy from every year at Equine Affaire in Springfield, MA), and I was let down. That said, the bright spot was the lovely customer service woman at State Line who really, truly, genuinely wanted and tried very hard to help me. I think she even refunded some of the cost I paid for rush shipping. All in all though, I am going to return the whip and I am not likely to buy from State Line again (I will in person though).
