Post-Delivery FeedbackApr 8, 2026
I recently ordered a new set of performance reeds for my ’99 Blaster, and the difference they’ve made is nothing short of amazing. Compared to the stock reeds, these upgraded ones completely transform the riding experience, and I can confidently say the bike has never felt this responsive before.
From the moment I installed them, I could tell the fit and finish were top-notch. They seated perfectly without any hassle, creating a solid seal that inspires confidence. The stock reeds always felt a bit restrictive and inconsistent, and over time they could create minor performance hiccups. With these new reeds, everything is smooth, crisp, and reliable.
The most immediate change I noticed was the throttle response. The Blaster now reacts instantly to every twist, giving me a level of control that the stock setup just couldn’t deliver. On tight trails, this responsiveness is a game-changer. I can accelerate out of corners with authority and without any hesitation in power delivery. Where the stock reeds felt like they had a slight lag, these new ones give the engine a sharp, clean hit of power right when I want it.
Another area where the upgrade shines is mid-range performance. Before, the bike felt like it had to work hard to keep up speed, especially in the middle of the powerband. Now, the engine pulls with consistent strength, making climbing hills, overtaking, or just cruising at higher speeds much more effortless. The overall ride feels smoother too; transitions between gears are cleaner, and I haven’t experienced any of the sputters or hiccups I used to get with the stock reeds.
Durability is also something to consider. While I haven’t had these new reeds for long, I can already tell they’re built to last. The materials feel far more robust than the original equipment, and after several rides, they show no signs of wear or damage. I used to worry about reed chips or fraying with the stock ones, but so far, these upgraded reeds have been flawless.
The performance gains aren’t just about speed; they’ve made the overall experience of riding my Blaster more fun. I feel more connected to the machine because it reacts exactly how I expect. Even small adjustments in throttle input deliver a noticeable difference in behavior, which makes for a much more engaging ride.
In summary, upgrading from stock reeds to a performance set has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my ’99 Blaster. The bike is faster, smoother, and more reliable than ever, and I can fully enjoy the trails without worrying about performance dips. If anyone is on the fence about replacing their stock reeds, I can’t recommend it enough. The improvement in throttle response, mid-range pull, and overall ride quality is well worth it. This experience has reminded me why small upgrades can make such a huge difference in how much you enjoy your machine.
