PSI is amazing at displaying there product, much better than Woodturningz and 9 times out of 10 has better prices. The only thing that I have trouble with is when there are certain items that are only purchasable in bulk such as the Botanical Twist Pen or Deer Antler.

I had a difficult time navigating the website. Ian not a novice in on line activities . Excessive duplication and distracting links. Once I learned what to avoid and beware of distracting links and promotions I was able to find what I was looking for. As a new customer I’m trying to understand the products to make judgments on what I want to purchase. Having made prior Penn State purchases in a retail store I needed to find other items to complete the project on hand the store did not stock. Thus the reason I shopped on the Penn State website. I was pleased to find the prices on the site acceptable. I was not pleased with the shipping costs. I had no choice but to absorb the shipping cost which more than doubled the total cost. I wanted to purchase more items to justify paying so much shipping but the items I wanted were out of stock. Then the shipping time is exceeding long. I recently made a second purchase with the same experience, I currently have some basket items ready to be ordered but now I am not able to gain access to my account to complete the purchase due to my name or password is rejected . I haven’t been able to make contact with customer support as my attempts have been outside business hours inspite of the notice of access 24/7. I did send an email message to support regarding my problem, I have not yet heard back from them,, . I have followed to procedure the website provides for a forgotten password, I send my email address as directed but never receive the code or any acknowledgement of any kind, at this point I am considering the abandonment of of using Penn State for turning products.. My expectation is to cancel the planned purchase of the basket items if I ever get access to be able to do so.

When placing my order it was hard as I always use the look up bar and put in the # of the item and a picture pops up below and you select. This time some or most of the items nothing would pop up and if I typed in the name of the product that seem to work.

all turners should use PSI. Their kits are of the professional kind. They have all the supporting items needed also. A truly one stop shop and besides having everything available online they send you a hard copy of the instructions plus a real paper catalog!

The items ordered were required to complete a kit previously purchased from PennState, a necessity that was not made apparent when the kit was previously ordered. That issue should have been made clear when I first ordered the kit!

When trying to filter the pen blanks on my phone, it would refresh the entries after each filter change. It would be nice if I could make multiple filters then refresh. I would like more options for bundled kits at a discount, say 10 lighthouse kits for 20% cheaper than buying individually.

Penn State Industries sells a large variety of pen kits and blanks. My wife and I started a nonprofit called Pens for First Responders, and we are planning to turn Majestic click pens or Gatsby twist pens for every first responder in the US. These are simple, yet beautiful pens, and we believe first responders will like to receive one of these in the future.
