So my most recent experience with zZounds was… mostly solid, with a couple of eyebrow-raising moments. I ordered a piece of music gear I’d been eyeing for a while, and the buying process itself was super easy. The website was clear, specs were laid out well, and the payment options (especially the monthly payment plan) were a big plus. That part genuinely felt musician-friendly, like they understand not everyone wants to drop a ton of cash all at once. Shipping was reasonably fast, and everything showed up well-packed and in good condition, which always earns points with me.
That said, it wasn’t totally flawless. Communication could’ve been better. After placing the order, there was a bit of uncertainty around shipping updates, and I found myself checking my email more than I should have. Customer service wasn’t bad when I reached out, but it felt a little slow and not as proactive as I’d hoped. Nothing deal-breaking, just mildly frustrating—especially when you’re excited about new gear and counting the hours until it arrives.
Overall, I would recommend zZounds, especially if you’re a musician who values flexible payment options and a wide selection of gear. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives for me. That said, if you’re someone who expects lightning-fast communication or white-glove customer service at every step, you might feel a bit let down. For me, I’d still shop there again—just with slightly adjusted expectations and a little extra patience.
