I really enjoy shopping with the vitamin shoppe because they provide a high quality product. My only issue is with their reward system- I like to buy my products in high enough amounts to get free shipping because I will use them before they go bad anyway and I set up subscription for it since I’m purchasing it regularly and it all saves a little bit of money. The issue is, I buy 2 bottles which will last me about 5 months and then I get a notification that I qualify for a reward and it’s added to my account, which is great! Except for the fact that the reward expires less than 2 months after my purchase. I don’t need to buy more yet, but my reward will expire if I don’t. A lot of other companies do 6 months - 1 year before a reward expires, so why the urgency? And it’s not like I can choose a higher amount of points to wait before it redeems- that does me no good. I’m not going to order again for another 5 months or so, so I’ll just have the same problem with a higher reward amount. I was really excited to see that they’ve rolled out a rewards program and to be able to use it, especially with all of the free points they give away every month, but this is severely disappointing that my reward will now go to waste. I decided to be loyal to vitamin shoppe years ago because of their consistent quality, but I’m seriously considering shopping around again to find a system that can have a rewards system that actually works for the user instead of just trying to be flashy.
