I’ve definitely had a journey with Ulla Popken. On the positive side, I’m always drawn in by their bold patterns, interesting silhouettes, and the fact that their styles span multiple vibes. The pieces are fun, it keeps my wardrobe from feeling predictable, and I appreciate that they take design risks in plus fashion.
But here’s where I get tripped up — and it’s happened more than once — the quality of the fabric just hasn’t consistently lived up to the price point. Pieces sometimes look fabulous online, but then the fabric feels cheaap, or thinner than I was expecting.
Would I recommend them?
Yes — cautiously — and with disclaimers:
Go to them when you want something with personality or a unique cut that you won’t see everywhere. Make sure you can return items. Be choosy about fabrics — anything that looks too poly or flimsy online, probably is.
Think of it as a place for special pieces rather than staples.
