In store Return Process
Post-Delivery FeedbackAug 2, 2026
I decided to return my online DoodleBob costume order in-store to avoid paying for return shipping. I printed the return slip that was emailed to me and took it to the Spencer's location in Hurst Mall in Hurst, Texas.
Unfortunately, none of the employees seemed familiar with how to process an online return. While one employee was eventually able to figure it out, the experience was uncomfortable from the start. During the refund process, when I needed to swipe my card, the register or keyboard froze in the middle of the transaction.
The employee attempted to fix the issue by unplugging and reconnecting the equipment, pressing various keys, and eventually flipping the keyboard over in frustration. It was clear she was upset with the situation, and it made me feel like I was inconveniencing the staff, even though the issue was beyond my control.
She ultimately had another employee take over the second register because the first one was no longer working and mentioned she would need to contact IT.
I understand that technical issues happen, and I don't fault the employee for the equipment freezing. However, I was disappointed that no one appeared to know how to process an online return, and I didn't feel the situation was handled in a professional or reassuring manner. I left feeling uncomfortable and like I had been a burden for simply trying to return an online purchase in-store.
