Roots is cute and good enough quality. It's a bit expensive. I tend to buy either roots or abercrombie for the kids. The seasonal kids gear is often quite cute and has Canadian themes which is usually more relatable (i.e., summer camp, skiing, hockey) than the american "fun" products that feature NFL and NBA teams or things that are super southern USA (i.e., fishing, hunting). I wish the roots stuff was a bit more affordable. I would recommend people not buy beaver canoe, it reminds me of off-brand stuff... like why buy that and not the real roots. It's just a bit off to me. A higher end brand I quite like is psycho bunny for my 7 year old, it's a bit thicker and has nicer details like higher end trim or embroidery and nice metal finishes on drawstrings. Psycho bunny is another higher end alternative from abercrombie and roots that I quite like. However, Psycho bunny is roughly double in price most of the time. What inspired this particular purchase is my niece loves skiing and I knew this would be a thicker, more quality sweater that will wash up well and has a nice graphic. The shade of blue is quite nice and I like that the brand itself (roots) is something you can feel comfortable wearing as everyday stuff... it's not so high end people wonder who you're trying to impress, and yet its not low end and plain like walmart.
