I have been a continuously employed web application developer for the last 20 years, I normally charge for this kind of feedback, take that for what you will.
Switching between profiles could be easier all around.
Searching for parts directly from the profile selection would be nice. As it is, its just extra clicks and adding another search field in that area is trivial.
In the past when I've selected my profile, then searched, I was shown all products and not products specifically from the profile I had selected. It worked just fine today, so that looks fixed, but this rolls into the next section below.
At some point the process did jump profile selections without my input; however, I was actually searching for a product (Tusk Swing Arm Guards Black) for a different bike. I suspect the search is smart enough to select the only bike in my profile list that matched the product, and/or it searched my history and matched an earlier purchase for that machine. While this was actually what I wanted this time, I could see situations where a user might not want that and furthermore, might not notice it until they received the product. The following is a simplified version of what I would do to fix.
I would add heuristic feedback that showed that while I searched for the product on profile-A, it is not available for that profile but is available for profile-B. I would add in that same space an indicator when a product is available for multiple profiles. I would likely make that section a collapsible accordion(since it fits with your existing layout at the top of the search result section) with an indicator showing when a part is available for multiple profiles and of course make it very easy for the customer to purchase the product without losing the original context. A one click add to cart for the 2nd profile AND/OR switch to that profile without (you guessed it) losing the original context. Not losing context = I don't have to re-search the part.
Hope this helps.
