Site Experience FeedbackAug 7, 2026
I found the website easy enough to use, but my experience with customer service left me disappointed.
Before placing my order, I called because I noticed the exact same product was available for less directly from the manufacturer's website. In addition, the manufacturer offered a LE discount and no tax on the order. I wasn't asking MidwayUSA to beat the price, I simply asked if there was a discount code available or whether you offered a Law Enforcement or military discount. I was told "no" and that the founder feels that everyone should receive the same pricing, then I was immediately asked if there was anything else I needed. When I said no, the call ended.
What surprised me most wasn't being told no. I understand every company has pricing policies and margins to maintain. The disappointing part was that there was no attempt to retain my business. No one asked if there was anything they could do to earn my purchase, offered an alternative product, suggested a promotion, or even acknowledged the price difference.
In today's economy, price matters more than ever. Many customers are comparing prices across multiple retailers before making a purchase. A difference of even 10 to 15% can determine where someone spends their money. Customer service representatives are often the last opportunity to keep a customer from buying elsewhere, and I felt that opportunity was completely missed.
A simple response such as, "While we can't match that price, let's see if there's another way we can help," would have made me feel like my business was valued. Instead, the conversation felt transactional, as if once the answer was "no," there was no further interest in keeping me as a customer.
I hope MidwayUSA considers empowering its customer service team to do more in situations like this. Whether it's offering occasional promotional codes, discounts for first responders and military members, or simply making a greater effort to explore options, those small gestures can make a significant difference in customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
I wanted to share this feedback because I believe many customers are in the same position today. Companies that recognize the importance of both competitive pricing and outstanding customer service are the ones that will earn repeat business.
