Site Experience FeedbackApr 17, 2026
I think it’s a little ridiculous that you have to pay to ship to the store. If I have to pay nearly 8 dollars for shipping regardless, why would I have something shipped to you rather than my house? Where is the incentive to go into the store? Almost everyone else has free shipping to their stores nowadays. And if you gave like an additional 5 to 15% off to people who buy something in the store at the time they pick up an order you’d make more money and sales. We do it at Torrid; almost every customer who picks up a package in the store leaves having bought something else when we tell them about that discount opportunity. And especially when we let them know it stacks with existing deals.
Also, your “student discount” is a bit of a joke. $10 off of $75? Be so for real. The average cost for a pair of shoes on your site is like $65 anyway. Why am I going to spend an additional $10 to qualify for your discount when it’s not actually going to save me any money? Like I’m not actually getting a deal there, you’re just trying to make me think that I am. Honestly, it’s a bit insulting to your customer base to think that’s not something that they’ll notice and they’ll just keep handing you their money. Also, when that’s what you call a “discount“ why would I not go to your competitors? Converse has a 15% discount for most of the year except during back to school shopping when it shoots up to 25% off. Crocs has several student discount options; $15 off of $75, $20 off of $100 and 25% off your purchase. Hell even Steve Madden has a 25% off student discount. There is no incentive to choose you over any of those places. Literally the only reason I made a purchase from journeys today is because the shoes I needed for my sister’s birthday were sold out in her size everywhere else I looked. I’m pretty sure your goal as a company is not to be the desperate last resort but every time I’ve made a purchase from journeys in the last five years (which admittedly hasn’t been many) that was why. In my experience and in the experience of most people that I know you are who they choose when they have no other options. Pretty sad when you think about it. Also, when you put everything together, your lack of a real student discount (which at the moment you have literally the same “deal” going for just anyone who shows up to your website), your bogus and outdated shipping policies, and your ineffective “sales” throughout the year (they make it seem like you’re getting a good deal but in reality you’d be better off financially if you just bought shoes from the parent company rather than yourselves) all of that together just makes it seem like, as a company, that you don’t actually care about your customers. It makes it seem like you’re not even a little interested in their repeat business, and almost like you’re a little mad that you have to go through consumers to get their money in the first place.
Anyway, just a little food for thought, if indeed anyone does actually read these responses. However, with what I’ve come to expect from your company, I wouldn’t be surprised if this kind of stuff just gets sent out into the void to die.
