The Eflite Ultimate 3D arrived in good condition. Assemble went ok. The wing struts and associated attachment pins are a bit suspect as to strength and secure fit. I plan to check the wings alignment before first flights. I'll be flying this plane with a 4S, 2,200 mAh battery. The 5.5 oz of added weight molded in the foam battery/esc compartment was removed and I used the carbon fiber rod in the tail, rather than the 0.7 oz steel rod. Everyone knows extra weight and wing loading is not always a good thing. I'm not sure why this much added weight to a lightly constructed BNF would help, usually the battery, even a 3S is adjusted to balance on the CG. I guess I'll find out when the weather improves. I was disappointed with HH lack of battery options. I don't prefer the Smart S2. I do like the previous Smart battery with the balance plug and the feature of self-discharge to storage voltage. The Smart chargers are expensive. I've wanted a smaller biplane in my fleet, so I'll find out if this was a good choice. The weather has been gusty and cold, so I'm holding off on the maiden. I also fly from a grass field and with the small wheels, it will add an extra challenge to take-off and land smoothly. There are lots of YT videos that potential buyers of this airplane can watch and make a decision.
