I purchased a car seat from the graco website on sale. I liked that there were free shipping and returns and that the seat arrived quickly. I did not like that the manufacture date of the seat is nearly 3 years old when I received the carseat. I feel scammed. If there is a seat that is that old, why are you selling it? Isn't the manufacturer supposed to have the most up to date inventory? I think if you have seats sitting around that long you should donate them or give them to a reseller. Or don't make so many seats, so they are not wasted. I contacted customer service about the issue, and they were kind and offered a couple solutions. I chose to have Graco send me a replacement seat, hoping that the manufacture date would be newer. It wasn't. It was the same date of 01/03/2023. I'm frustrated, and I've learned not to buy a carseat unless I can personally verify the manufacture date. When you are planning to buy 1 seat, and get the most life out of it, it hardly seems fair to sell someone a seat that has a third of the life of the seat gone before it gets to the consumer. Now, maybe the seat is fine, and I could get a full 10 years out of it beyond the expiration date if the seat has only been sitting in a warehouse. I doubt that the company would say that it's fine due to safety and liability issues. So, I have to go with the idea that the seat will only last 7 years. Other than this issue, I really liked the seat, and everything else, but I don't like feeling scammed or lied to about the product I'm buying. I would still recommend Graco carseats, but I wouldn't recommend buying them online.
