I decided to try purchasing my glasses on line through Glasses USA because the cost was very reasonable and the convenience, for me, was very attractive because I would not have to leave my home and spend hours at different stores trying to find the glasses that I liked the best. I had already obtained my new vision prescription from an Opthalmologist because I am at the age where I need to be checked for Cataracts, Glaucoma and I also must have a prism included in my lenses.
I spent several hours in front of my computer looking at different frames; used the "Try On" App that Glasses USA has available, and I also spent much time making sure that I understood how to fulfill the order with the corrrect measurements so that the frames would fit my face/head correctly.
I ordered two pair of glasses with no-line bifocals, in oversized type of frame. I ordered the specific sizes to fit my bow length and the width of my face.
I received my glasses, and wore them for a reasonable length of time to allow myself and my eyes to adjust to havin no-line bifocals. Unfortunately, the vision correction seemed to be mis-centered for my eyes. I called and talked to Glasses USA, and they kindly listened to my problems and made arrangements for me to return the glasses and have them re-do the lenses. I received the glasses the second time, and they seemed much better where the correction was placed.
I am totally happy with the customer service portion of my dealings with GlassesUSA. Unfortunately, I still do not have a good "fit" or feel comfortable with my vision clarity with these glasses. I also do not feel that the glasses I ordered are of good quality. They are light-weight which is good; however the frames seem o be of low quality. I have purchases reading glasses for less than $5.00 that seem to be of better quality materials. They do not have "spring" frames; the lenses seem rather loose in the frames and also, the frames around the lenses seem really thin and weak. My BIGGEST problem with ordering on-line from GlassesUSA, however, is that there is no way to just "drop back by" at the store so I can have a knowledgeable person help me adjust my glasses ----- so they don't fall off my face when I bend forard; and so they don't keep sliding down my nose, and to walk me through any process necessary to avoid having to do what I am now doing -- putting my new GlassesUSA glasses back in my drawer and taking my Eye Doctor's prescription to a local business that sells glasses and start all over. I am ending up having to pay again to obtain new glasses. Go through the choosing of frames and options; fitting frames to my face, ordering and waiting!
I do not GlassesUSA responsible for all of my problems getting new glasses; but I definitely will not buy prescription glasses again over the internet. It just did not work out well for me. I will have to go back to purchasing from a local store where I can actually try on the frames and know they fit and look good on my face.
