I like Gamefly a lot, and have even gifted memberships to others, but my friends I've gifted it to usually cancel because shipping is slow in Colorado. And I agree with their assessment, but for me I'm willing to make that trade. Games do ship very slow, and I wish it would be quicker for us in the mountain timezone!
Also the app on Android is terrible! Or it was when I was on Android. The iOS app isn't horrible, but I remember on Android being so annoyed with it, that I just used the web app. Definitely fix the Android app - I plan on returning to Android in the next year or two.
Since everyone is kind of going digital, I wonder if it's possible for Gamefly to create a 'game store' now that things are kind of changing. I doubt it'll be an easy adventure, but I do worry about the longevity of their business model with the changing landscape!
As for today's interaction, using the big screen (my computer) to do the transaction was fairly good. I did have to reauthenticate which is annoying, but a good thing IMO, and I did have to supply my security code for my card which also is a good thing, but it's also kind of a hassle. I wish they had an 'express checkout' for situations where I just want to push buy and move on.
