Saw an advertisement for the free gift promo while browsing and tried ordering that same day. However, there was a glitch in the payment system and it prompted me to call customer service. I called and explained that I did try to input a new payment method since the old card was obsolete however the system would not let me. After many tries, I gave it a rest and waited for the next day. The kind lady on the phone advised that they will get to the bottom of this and will try to find a way to fix the issue. And so on the next day, I was able to input a new card and finally went through with the gift purchase as it was a birthday present for my mom.
Overall, my ordering experience with the Estee Lauder has been seamless except for that one occasion. I understand that technology can have its glitches at times. However, I was just flustered on that particular day since all available options were exhausted, multiple visa cards were being inputted to no avail. It also made me think what if there was an option to use gift cards if card payment was not available? Simple things like that. But thankfully, the order went through today using a Mastercard. Hopefully, I won't encounter this kind of site issue going forward.
