I purchased a Kenwood Double-Din radio for retrofitting on our vintage motorhome. Since it was not a "normal vehicle" I did not specify a vehicle for installation.
When I received the radio, I learned that the installation sleeve and trim ring were not included, and I contacted tech support. I was directed to a "DIY" or to fabricate the installation means.
Multiple items of dissatisfaction:
1- If I don't specify a vehicle, and the radio does not come with required universal installation components, clearly indicate this.
2- The universal installation components are not costly, and used on many radion models from each manuifacturer; you could keep a small number in inventory and offer them to make the purchase experience favorable.
3- The tech support person should know that the items are available, and will not require special fabrication. If you will never carry these, the tech support person should have known that they are available from the manufacturer.
I have purchased many items from Crutchfield over many years. I know that I may be paying a small percentage above other, low cost/low support sellers, but I have high expectations from Crutchfield - they were not met this time.
