Post-Delivery FeedbackJul 10, 2026
Customer sever was a delight to deal with. I dont like alot of paper trails and bank transactions being pushed out into the world with my name attached to it because basically I dont trust society very much. I dont even have a bank account because i dont trust the government or any entity that is connected to them. So, for the first time in my life i decided to purchase a high dollar item from a webste but i wanted to talk to a "real person" and have them take my order. I called customer service at competitive edge and the phone was answered on the second ring. After talking to the representitive for a few minutes, i was at ease with giving him my information and placing an order. Receipts were sent to me right away along with a tracking route number. I felt pretty good about the purchase i made. They gave me an ETA of four days which made me pretty excited. Maybe I should also mention that shipping was free on my $1600 purchase of a kodiac tent, a front vestibule and a really nice lazy bear chair. Everywhere else I looked, shipping was almost $200. So I was pretty pleased with this 4 day delivery idea for my purchase that was coming from utah to michigan. THERE WAS A GLITCH.....during the second day while my purchase was in transit, I decided to check the status of my package so I went to the competitive edge website and looked at my account. There was a flash notice. It informed me that my package was going to be delayed 1 day because while in transit the ups, upc (whatever) code got damaged and they had to research the package, adjust the tracking and put a new code on the packages.Yeah.....i figured that this will be another week or more now because, you know, nothing moves like the government or customer service! So the next day i figured Id check the tracking to see where my tent was hung up at. To my surprize, it had moved another 300 miles!!! This was amazing to me. So.....blah, blah, blah....My tent arrived, like promised, one day late and in good shape. I could see where the sticker got rubbed but the rest of the boxes were in great shape and undamaged. Now, I dont know who was in charge of fixing the glitch, competitive edge or fed ex, I dont care but it got done and I will say that it was competitive edge that kept me up to date in lightning speed accuracy. Im pretty impressed. That had to take alot of "back and forth" between comp. edge and fed ex to pull off that kind of excellent service. Its been my experience in life that once your money gets to a retailers pocket, they couldnt give a crap about you. This entire transaction has reinstated my faith in dealing with commericalized, corporate america. (at least for now). With this kind of customer service, Id order ice cream in the middle of summer from competitive edge if they sold it.
One more thing........I had been researching this tent for three years before I pulled the trigger (mostly cause im poor) but comp.edge was the only place that had videos of the tent, an interactive 360 view of it, testimonials, FAQs, and an extreamly cool guy doing all the presentations in the videos. Its like they gave the guy a product that he knew nothing about and he put it through all the stress tests he could think of and made videos of it. Dealing with comp. edge was/is an excellent way to do business. They have many more products there that I will soon be purchasing from them. I highly recommend this company as a good source to use for purchasing power.
Speaking of that.....they usually offer the price of the tent and the bundle that you can get for $50 cheaper than anywhere else. Combine that with free shipping and you would almost be stupid not to use this company when making an investment in you personal quest for comfort and service in your materialized world. I actually really like going to their website and serfing around. Ive recommended it to all my friends and mention it in the comment sections on utube when the subject matter is fitting.
