I recently purchased an item online. When I tried to place the order using a coupon code on a Camping World flyer I just had received (I verified the coupon was not expired), I received an error that the coupon could not be applied. I still placed the order because we needed the item and then followed up an hour later by calling customer service. Per the service representative request, I emailed her photos of the flyer and she said she would review them and get back to me. Over a week later, I hadn't heard back, so I called again and received a different representative. She informed me that you couldn't use the coupon on sale items. This was not noted on the coupon or as part of the error I received when trying to use it on the error. The representative told me it was listed in the policies section of the website. When I told her I had a background in user experience design and marketing and not including this information on the coupon itself and as part of the error message was a bad practice, she became defensive and argumentative with me. I eventually ended the call because I didn't feel I was being listened to.
