Started order on Sunday and had these 2 items in the cart. Went to check out and it said was unable to apply the discount code that I had received for signing up for the CW mailing list via a FaceBook ad. I called CW customer service and it was after hours, so I tried the “chat” feature and it eventually asked for my phone number so that someone could call me the following day (Monday). I got no call and late last night logged in thinking I may have gotten a message about it, but did not. While logged in I looked at cart and the price of one of the items went up about $50.
I called CW customer service this morning and spoke with Pia and she told me 1) I shouldn’t expect that a code from FB would work, this after telling her multiple times that I was taken to the CW website and also received an email with the same code. She tried the code and it wouldn’t work for her either. 2) She said that there was nothing she could do about the price increase. After some condescending remarks from her I asked to have the call elevated.
Adiya Griffin took over and told me 1) to email her the screenshot and email from CW showing the discoun code. 2) She said unless I had a screenshot of the sale price for the item that had increased that there was nothing she could do. I asked two times for her to tell me that the company has no way of seeing what the sale price was a day or two ago and she said “no”. I find this extremely hard to believe.
I’ve purchased around $3,000 worth of RV gear in the past month and only about $100 of it is from Camping World because the prices are typically so much higher than the much more user friendly Amazon. The only reason I ordered these was because I got a gift card, these two items combined were around $100 less on Amazon, but the original sale price made it more palatable.
Had the code worked I would have had my order on the way. In addition to it not working, I did not receive a phone call yesterday as was stated by the chat bot, Pia was unaware of how the FaceBook ad worked and unpleasant. Adiya was aware of the FB ad, but asking for screenshots and email, while not a huge deal, was insulting. Then her saying that there’s no way to see what the sales price was just two days ago seems dissensions at best.
Not a great experience in so many ways.
Unfortunately, I still have credit remaining on the card and CW already has the money for that, so I am fully expecting these comments to fall on deaf ears.
