I purchased a 3 foot tall fiber optic christmas tree. I had seen it in store, last year, but was too expensive. It was advertised on sale in a recent flyer for a good price so I decided to order it. I was excited about receiving it as my deceased Aunt used to have one very similar. What I received was a PEICE OF JUNK!
1st, the box it was shipped in was actually 2 boxes peiced together with tons of packing tape holding it together.
The box was also banged up, partly crushed and just looked it had been through the mill!
It was already pretty obvious that this tree had been returned before and just re-shipped.
I was absolutely right, because the inside box was just as bad. Beat up, packing tape all over it.
Again, an obvious previous return.
Now onto the tree. Inside the box, the tree was zip tied together and 15 or so clear snowflakes to be attached to the tree were scattered all over the box along with a ripped open plastic bag.
The tree was advertised, shown, AND described as being in a black pot. This tree had NO pot, but 3 plastic legs to attach to the bottom. When I plugged the tree in, it constantly flashed, brightly, like some kind of a disco strobe. There was no control so the tree would remain this way. Very irritating.
I was SO disgusted and upset about this tree. Beside costing me around $150, it wasn't even the right tree.
It was JUNK! So disappointing!
I called customer service to find out about shipping it back, along with a pair of boots that didn't fit.
Return instructions online are very vague about return shipping costs. The customer service rep wasn't much better. All I wanted to know was who pays for return shipping. I finally got an answer from the rep that I was responsible for the shipping costs. NO WAY I was going to pay to return this expensive peice of junk!
The closest Boscov's to my house is about 20 miles, but I will be returning it there.
I like shopping at Boscov's store, and have ordered a few things online before. But I doubt I will EVER order another item from Boscov's. Like everyone else you order from, most of the product is faulty or just junk and needs to be returned.
At least Amazon let's you return it to a Staples or other store.
(Probably what keeps Staples in business. There's always a line to return Amazon junk)
Shopping in a Boscov's store is fine, but not convenient to me. But at least you can see what you are buying.
Many times when I get a sale flyer, online ad, I see things I like/want,on sale, but can't get to the store.
I guess in the future, I will have to do without
Such a disappointing experience. A very bad mark on Boscov's.
