I placed an order for a Sumiko Moonstone turntable cartridge to replace my previous one, and while the website said it was in stock, a couple hours after placing my order, I received an email indicating that it's actually backordered, and "in most cases... available within 7-10 business days." Thankfully it was shipped within that window, but I probably wouldn't have ordered from AA had I known beforehand that it was out of stock.
Unfortunately, it was shipped from an Amazon warehouse (bummer) and I was also given the wrong tracking information (wrong carrier and all). I reached out to customer service and was then given the correct tracking.
When the stylus arrived, it had been dislodged from its foam packaging, and left to bounce around in the little plastic jewel box it came in. I reached out to customer service via email again for assistance, as $230 is a lot of money for me, and I wanted to make sure that there was no chance that the needle had become damaged in transit. I need it to last as long as possible. I was instructed to get in touch with AA's turntable expert, but wasn't initially given any guidance on how to do that. After a follow up email, I learned his name and that I would need to call him. When I did that, he wasn't available, so I left him a message. He returned my call the following day and left a lengthy message addressing my concerns, which I appreciated. I did not follow up after that.
I'm not upset about any of this per se, but you asked, so this is my honest assessment of a process I wish had involved about 5 fewer steps.
