Misrepresented inventory and shipping
Post-Delivery FeedbackJan 25, 2026
I looked up a part online and saw the AP Electric had the part in stock. The part was about the same price as everyone else, but I chose AP Electric because it showed in stock and they offered overnight expedited shipping. Other sites had expedited shipping for much less cost, but I assumed the higher price for shipping at $110 meant I was guaranteed to get the part.. I ordered it about 230 and being in the service industry, I knew the cut off was around 3 PM. The next day when my part was expected and didn’t arrive, I called the company. My part hadn’t left the building yet. After a brief conversation on the phone, I was refunded a portion of my shipping costs at about $56 and was only charged for two day shipping. I was offered an apology for the part not leaving on time, but was assured my part would arrive the following day and I could choose to accept this problem or cancel my order. The next day I waited until 1030 for the park to arrive because without a signature, they would not deliver the part so I had to clear my schedule and wait for the delivery and sign to receive the package. When the delivery arrived, I quickly opened the package and found it was the wrong part. I contacted AP Electric immediately and was then told that they would help me resolve the problem and get the correct part shipped. AP Electric called me back a short time later and informed me that they actually did not have the part available and could order it from the manufacturer with a 3 to 5 business day arrival time. They refunded me the full cost of the part which I have yet to receive in my account and I still have the wrong part they sent me which is no use to me. Now my customer has been down for a week with no backup power and an impending winter storm bearing across the United States towards South Carolina. I have had to re-order the part from another company. I have had to put a portable diesel generator at the customers site to ensure they have backup power as they are on oxygen and have life support medical equipment in their home. AP Electric not only didn’t ship my part on time. They misrepresented their inventory and they shipped the wrong part. This type of behavior by a company might be taken lightly by some, but can be very damaging for not only customers that need the part personally but companies that need to fix these generators for their customers. It’s an extremely costly mistake. It results and reports being made to the federal trait commission and can result in legal grounds being taken.
