Man, I’ve gotta tell you about the gear I just picked up — I’m seriously pumped about it.
First off, I grabbed a new acoustic Washburn guitar and it’s been awesome so far. The tone is really warm and full, and it just feels great in your hands. It’s one of those guitars where you sit down to play for a few minutes and suddenly an hour has gone by. It’s really comfortable to play and sounds great whether I’m just strumming or picking around on it.
I also picked up a BOSS Blues Driver pedal for my electric setup. Since I’ve already got four electric guitars, I figured it was time to add a classic pedal to the mix. I’ve heard people talk about the Blues Driver forever, and now I get why. It gives this really smooth, natural overdrive — not too heavy, just that perfect bluesy grit that still lets the guitar’s tone come through. It makes riffs and solos sound awesome without overdoing it.
I grabbed a phone stand too so I can pull up tabs, chords, or YouTube lessons while practicing. It’s such a simple thing, but it actually makes a big difference. Now I can keep my phone right in front of me instead of constantly picking it up or losing my place.
And the new guitar strap is great as well — really comfortable and solid. Makes standing up and playing a lot easier, especially when I’m messing around with the electrics.
Overall it feels like I upgraded my whole little practice setup at once. Between the new acoustic and the Blues Driver for my electrics, I’ve got plenty of reasons to keep playing. Definitely one of those purchases that gets you excited to pick up the guitar every day. 🎸
